I recently installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 Home Basic on my HP Pavilion p6-2206ed.
My first problem is that my ethernet cable is not working because the drivers aren't installed. When I try to install drivers through .exe file (downloaded on my laptop) it says that the ***.eze is not compatible with my version of windows. I am 10000% sure it IS the correct version for my windows 7.
I can't open zip files from usb either.:confused:
Please someone help, I have no clue what to do...

Which package did you install, 32 bit or 64 bit? You would usually need a different driver pack between the two variants.

I would say you have a corrupt install of windows. Any exe or zip file will open correctly in windows 7 as it has built in program for zip files. Try reinstalling windows again.

I have retried installing it 3 times!! But I keep getting that message! On my Laptop it works just fine. The exe files are for 64bit, and the desktop is 64bit aswell!
I already ordered a copy of the Windows7 dvd for my specific desktop, but still thanks!

I had to reimage my pc after an install for the same reason. Corrupted the install and couldn't load any file with the extension of .msi.

Basically means you have a corrupt install of windows. What are you using to install windows?
