Hi,

I Windows 7 on my laptop, and it is working great (ish - bit sluggish on my laptop). Only problem is that the speakers don't work.

I have only just noticed this as I usually have it on mute. When I plug in some speakers into the headphone jack they work fine, but when I want to use the bult in speakers - no sound. When I open the volume controls it shows that there is a sound level present. All drivers are uptodate, and I can't roll them back.

Any ideas as to whats wrong?

Thanks, Doug.

this is odd, i don't have much experience with computer speakers, and like how you said, the drivers are up to date so my last guess is that you speakers aren't compatible some how... hopefully this is a beta bug, because this is not uncommon, my friend recently upgraded as well, and he has a similar problem (on a laptop too).

Have you tested out the speakers on another PC - or audio device. Have you tried plugging in some headphones to your laptop ( do laptops have headphone jacks )? Might eliminate or hone in on your problem depending on whether the headphones work or not work on your laptop.

I mean the speakers built into the laptop don't work.

The laptop has a headphone/lineout, which has S/PDIF built into it as well, and a microphone/line in. So two 3.5mm sockets in all. I haven't tried headphones, but when I connected my amp and speakers up via analog line out they worked.

Cheers, Doug.
