Windows 7 - Notepad Problems!!

About a week ago i finished building my first computer. I put an OEM version of windows 7 on it. The problem im having is with notepad!! When installing files that contain information on notepad, the formatting is incorrect. For example, i downloaded something which had instruction in notepad that came with it. Certain things you had to copy and paste. However, the text is in one long line! Why does this happen?

On my laptop i have i tried downloading the same thing and the text is in the correct way. I also tried installing something different but i am met with the same problem!! I cannot seem to figure out why everything is clumped up instead of being spaced out and on different lines.

I also know its not that specific download because a friend of mine also got it and the notepad text is correct for them.

Any help is appreciated.

In notepad go to Format > Word wrap.
 
Yeah.. i tried that but it just made it one large paragraph.

example!

what it should be:

*****BLAH BLAH*****
34234.12312435 = AJFAKSDJF
4Q234545 = SAFKASDKF
ASDFKJASDF = 412948912384
******BLAH BLAH ****

What it ends up looking like:

*****BLAH BLAH*****34234.12312435 = AJFAKSDJF4Q234545 = SAFKASDKFASDFKJASDF = 412948912384******BLAH BLAH ****

But in my case there is A LOT of text.. so it pretty much becomes impossible to navigate through.. especially when i have no idea at all what it should say

open it in wordpad or microsoft word, or make the text smaller.
