Windows 7 OEM pricing is out - 99 Bucks

Upgrade Prices

I recently bought a laptop and qualify for the free upgrade. The laptop came with Vista Home Premium 32 so I'll get the Home Premium 7. That's perfectly fair, my only disappointment is that I've been running the final release candidate version of 7, which is Win7 Ultimate, so it will be a bit of letdown. My point: I wish the upgrade prices were based upon what is being upgraded. It doesn't seem fair that someone running Win95 will pay the same to upgrade as someone running a lower version of Win7. It's great for the 95 users, all five of them:), but not so cool for the users of more recent OS's...especially users of Windows 7.

I doubt anyone running Windows 95 will upgrade to Windows 7, even if it's possible to do so, because those computers probably wouldn't run it.

XP is a different story though.

MS also wants to divert peoples attention on to their new OS, Win7, and get people off of Vista. Some people really didn't like the way Vista turned out, so they stuck with XP. Which is not what MS intended for them to do.
