Windows 7 problems

OK, hopefully someone else has had these issues and knows how to fix it. 2 things.

I cannot get the Catalyst control center to install. ive tried a couple different versions of the drivers. Whenever i go to install when it asks if i want express or custom install it says the filepath is invalid no matter what i put in there.

Also. i tried using the windows score to see how my stuff performs on there but it never finishes and doesn't give any numbers.

I pretty sure you install catalyst not windows 7 version. Make sure you download the right one for your OS.

There isn't yet an official release for Windows 7.

Try right clicking the setup file and select troubleshoot compatibility.

I downloaded the one for windows 7 first and it wouldn't work, because that is the operating system i am using. i am still using vista as my other OS, and it works fine on that. so i deleted the one for 7 and downloaded the one for vista 64, and still a no go

Are you trying to access the CCC software features? I ask because Windows 7 should have already installed the appropriate drivers for your video card. You can double check this in the device manager. I'm not sure why you can't finish the Windows Experience index test, it could be a driver issue. If you want to install the CCC to overclock your card or control fan speeds, you can try an alternative program like RivaTuner. I'm not sure if it works well with Windows 7, though.

ok, what video card do you have? I have not tried to install catylist because when i popped in my driver cd for my ati hd 4550 it said not compatible with windows 7, and i let windows install the drivers automatically. I will try it later on and let you know. However the windows experience index works fine for the video card, but suddenly it claims my hard drive is only 3.0 and yesterday it was 5.8

i have an ASUS/Saphirre 4850. I had the same problem when i tried to use my cd also. windows installed the actual driver with no problem, i just want the CCC to adjust the settings with a few things like my monitors and stuff. because i cannot get the correct resolution for my 32in LCD. my 19 in LCD is fine though.

This may sound like a dumb question: did you try adjusting the resolution using the Windows display properties menu? Is your TV 720p or 1080p? Like I said, there are third party programs that can do what the CCC offers, it's just unclear whether they will work with Windows 7. Software incompatibility will be an issue until Windows releases their RC1, maybe even until the RTM version...
