Windows 7 Quad-Core

I am curious they made mention that Vista is not very optimized for quad-cores and I can't seem to find any info if windows 7 is any better in progression.

My buddy is sending me a Professional x64 version via mail and will get here in 5-7 days but I like Vista x64 and unless there are real advantages I think I might just stay with it.

Was just curious if anyone had some good links of the RELEASED version to do a bit of reading with so I can judge the situation.

Dont think I have seen any benchmarks or reviews were 7 was alot better then Vista in multi core efficiency. 7 has some upgrades I think to the way it sees the differences between Hyperthreading and Physical cores. But I think overall they are pretty much equal with a few exceptions.

Eh I kinda figured it wasn't going to be much but I figured never hurts to ask since I have a free copy incoming.

Thanks Strangle :)

I like 7 better, but then I never liked Vista all that much. I've had a beef with microsoft for a long time anyway:D. They did the same thing with Windows 98, coming out with Windows 98SE and making you pay for it, like it was a new OS instead of it being a SP. Then dumped more stuff on it and tried calling it ME. Money hungry (B*******).

Its like a rerun of 98/98SE/ME. But I do admit 7 is alot better then the ME junk they dumped out. Its actually better then Vista. But I figured after the long sharp pointed screw microsoft put in everybody with ME/Vista that 7 should have been something like a SP upgrade for Vista and charged liked 30 bucks for it if you already had Vista.

Yeah but not worth the time formating imo. I rather like Vista it has 1 issue that bothers me but has been great so far.

Few things I really don't like about 7 which I hope I can change is the new goofy toolbar set up...the preview/huge icons etc looks retarded.

If I can get the classic "vista" set up I will format and try 7 when I do my next scheduled format (every 3 months for performance reasons)
