I"m considering making a purchase during the Pre-order window - and I've only ever purchased basic home versions of operating systems that came with my DELL PC's.
This purchase will be my first time - choosing between the 3 versions available when Windows 7 becomes available as soon as possibly tomorrow at a discount.
What are the advantages of choosing a version different than Windows 7 Basic?
Will I be losing availability of Media center for TV viewing - or other features that I would need.
Or do the upgraded versions just offer advanced ability to tinker with the nuts and bolts of the O/S - that I will probably never use.
Edit: I plan to use this as a Home PC - general user - I also might look to create a home network with a linux based server for storage purposes. As of now though - I have no knowledge beyond conceptual of how to create a home network. That's something I will be teaching myself if / when I choose to do so.
