Windows 7 recovery disk won't boot

Hi there,

I just bought a new desktop computer and the first thing I did was make a recovery disk using this method.

When I restarted, however, I never recieved this prompt. I've used two DVD's trying to make it work before I start making major changes to the computer.

Any ideas?
 
do you need a disk with windows 7?

Im using XP (never used 7 before) but i can restore from the bootup i think f11 or f10 during one of the loading screens
