So, I decided to finally do a complete cleanup by simply formatting my HDD and reinstalling Windows 7 on it. I booted the installation program from the DVD, but much to my dismay, it only let me format the drive. It didn't even let me partition the drive from the installation program, much less install the OS, and now it will not even let me boot the DVD, it just gives me a black screen when I try.
If it's any help, this is what I got when it let me boot from the DVD and tried to partition the drive: "setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition"
Anyone?
Solve: I unplugged my USB External HDD and it works. Found it on some other forum, but didn't get it to work the first time. Moral of the story? Try a little longer before putting up new threads for things like this. Silly me, thread closed.
