Hey guys I wish I could do more of a search of this before I post but kind of in a rush. Got the new motherboard today and bam...It hit me..Dang no OS...Ive heard its possible to use your old Win 7 thats on the HDD im still using. Then again I have also heard its not possible. The motherboard (in sig) was a full change not a replacement.

So is it possible? Wish i could search because I could prob find this answer over time but im headed to work and its either I figure this out today or I buy win7 after work for $100

Thanks guys

If it was an OEM version of windows you have then you will need to buy a new copy as its a totally different motherboard. If it was the full retail version then you can reinstall on the new motherboard. But if you try booting to the OS on the drive with the new motherboard, it will either blue screen on you or will boot loop. Windows will need to be reinstalled.
