hey everyone
i just got windows 7 and i'm not sure how to do everything.
Yesterday down on the task bar thing if i put the mouse cursor over a running program (firefox, amd overdrive, itunes, etc.) a little mini window of it would appear, like a sample version of what i had running.
and now today its not there if i put my cursor over one of the things on the taskbar it just shows the name and tabs of what i have down there instead of actually showing me a picture of it.
I was wondering if anyone knew how to get it back and if you do know could you help me?

Go in the taskbar/superbar properties.You can turn on that from there.

NOTE: If your graphic card sucks,don't expect to have that on in the frist place.But I am sure your graphic card is good if this already worked to you.

yeah i have a 4850
i already checked but i didn't know what to look for.
i will have another check now
 
In the taskbar properties window,there is an option called "Taskbar buttons:".From there you can do what you need...

but there are only 3 options in that thing and none of them make a preview appear when you put the cursor over an application.

thanks for your help so far,
but the problem is that i already have it set as "always combine,hide labels" and instead of getting the little preview thing like he gets, i get the names of the applications that have been "docked" (i think thats the right term) together.

is that the aeropeek?
because its enabled, and for some reason i can't disable it, as in its there but its sort of faded meaning it can't be changed, you know what i mean?
 
If you right click the desktop/properties you should see "Aero themes", scroll down further and you will see "Windows Basic and High Contrast Themes". It seems you have one of these turned on.

Assuming you have the capabilities to run Aero.
 
well my computer should be able to run aero seems that it used to and i can't see why not, its not a crap computer but not the best. (computer in sig)

i think i do have one of them on but there aren't any others to choose from, so what do i do to change to one that isn't "Windows Basic and High Contrast Themes"?

so i have gone to google and youtube and stuff and i have searched "how to enable taskbar thumbnail winodws 7"
now i found out how to do it. the only problem is that the values they say must be set to activate the taskbar thumbnails are already set to the correct value...

whats wrong? i really don't know what the problem is.

so please help if you can

Did u install the drivers for your GPU or did windows installed the OEM that came with im?
 
all drivers and stuff are up to date.
maybe i have somehow deleted the windows desktop manager which i think is required to run the thumbnails.
if i put the installation cd in and click repair or whatever will this fix the problem?

thanks for the help but i have already tried that and it didn't work.

i don't understand because it used to work and then one day it just disappeared

I know its not that much of a big deal and its not really all that important but i liked it :(
