Windows 8 App problems

I have a Lenovo Laptop running Windows 8.1.

Just over the past couple of days when I click on two of the items I have on the app screen - Sky News and my Calendar (Appointments) app they immediately disappear sitting in the toolbar at the bottom.

Quite frustrating. Could someone advise me a fix to this problem please.

Have you tried re-installing them?
