Windows 8 Internet Sharing Issue

The situation is I have a desktop running Windows 8 connected to TP-Link Wireless Router TL-WR340G through Ethernet cable.
I also have a WIMAX USB Modem connected to internet on the desktop.

Now I want to share this internet connection through the wireless router so that my laptop will be using the same internet connection as the desktop at the same time.

I already tried the Windows' Internet Connection Sharing but it didn't work, weird unexplainable things happened

Any suggestions?

PS. The homegroup sharing works but I can't share internet

Not sure if you will be able to get this to work or not. Sounds like you are using a usb aircard to get internet from a wireless provider and share that by using a router.

What port do you have the ethernet cable plugged into on the router?

You're right about the wireless provider.

I have it plugged into one of the 4 LAN ports. There's also a WAN port but I guess it's no use in this situation.

If it's not possible at all then can you please give me any other close solutions?
