Windows adding files to USB storage hard drive

Guys,

I don't know if "Hard Drives" is the right section for this, but everytime I plug in my USB hard drive, or flash drive, or put my phone into USB mode with my computer, the computer automatically adds 5 files to it: a "Music" folder, "Documents" folder, "New Folder" folder, "Pictures" folder, "Videos" folder, and a text document called "Passwords". I don't know why this is happening. I am worried that maybe its a virus that is adding these files, or maybe its a setting somewhere in Windows. I am running Windows XP, and like I said this is happening to any USB storage device I plug in. If I delete the files, they come back the next time I plug in that drive. If you guys know how I can get this to stop.
