Hi,

I have overclocked my processor to 3ghz and in my bios is show 3ghz, cpu-z show 3ghz to, but windows show me only 2,80ghz is this normal?

Thank you for yours helps guys!

Windows can be wrong with CPU speeds. as long as your BIOS and CPU-Z show 3ghz, you can be certain that it's running overclocked. try running 3dmark06, it should list your cpu and the default frequency, and then the overclocked frequency.

I think Windows is written to display the processors stock speed. It doesn't display the true clockspeed of a processor unless the processor is running at stock speed.

If the information you are getting states it is overclocked in the BIOS and in CPU-Z than the processor is overclocked in my opinion.

just checked and mine shows both:

And yeah I agree, if CPU-Z shows you a higher clockspeed then what it is at stock (assuming 2.8?), then it should be overclocked :)

Yeah I had a similar issue. My bios says 3.1Ghz with a multiplier of 7, yet on CPU-Z it says 2.6 with a multiplier of 6. Very odd indeed. Will try out 3dmark06 and let you know how what it says.

my processor is a Q8200 stock speed 2,33ghz and I have overclocked to 2,8ghz then after decide to overclock to 3ghz
