windows automatic updates issue

When I click on the icon that says "updates are ready for your computer. Click here to download these updates", I get this every time:

How do I repair this? I have windows XP. Service pack 2 I believe. I browsed the microsoft website but couldn't really find anything useful. I am not even positive what exactly I would be looking for.
