Yes it is good enough to back up using windows bacup, can you boot from it ? i assume you mean can yo boot from the back up ? no
for file replacement that you have deleted accidentally,,, it's ok
why not just use nero and a cd burner, i think nero has a HD back up. The downside of doing a complete HD backup from within windows is , lets say you did a back up to DVD or cd's. your had goes bad, you have to reinstall windows, all the drivers your backup program then the restore. If you want to do a whole hd back up you shold use ghost 2003, not 2002 or 2004 ( ver9), the 2003 version. clones your whole hd, can pull files from it in windows with ghost explorer.
