Ok i'm having a problem with windows now. In order to get windows to boot I have to press tab (to go to post it says) then I have to click f11 and say I want to boot from cd (it won't work if I set cd-rom to the highest in boot priorities) then it boots windows and I can take the cd out after its in windows xp. Is there a way to fix this? Is there something I forgot to do?
 
Sounds like a boot error to me, try checking your BIOS and resetting the defaults again.

But First check the boot order it should always go

1. Floppy Disk Drive
2. Hard Disk Drive
3. CD/DVD Drive

ok now I have another problem :rolleyes: . I cant get any audio from my computer except from that little speaker on the inside. when i go to control panel it says no audio device.

you mean it happened to you once before or it happens when you first boot up windows? if its the second thing i've booted the computer more than once it still does it. I would email microsoft but they might be total morons like every other tech support but i guess its worth a try. ok I read somewhere that it might be the hard drive and im going to replace that soon anyway for interface should i get sata 3.0gb/s or serial ATA150 i have this motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813130491.

ok I fixed my sound there was just something I forgot to do with the motherboard driver. Is it possible that there is just something I need to do with a driver for the hard drive like something in the motherboard drive folder?
 
I have never seen a hard drive that needs drivers to work. What is the error message you get when you boot without the xp cd in the drive?

i dont get an error message it just says theres no OS
