Okay silly question. I bought an 8gig flash drive to put windows on, to boot from. Can I still use the remaining space (4 gigs) on my flash drive for other stuff, or do I need to have only windows on it for it to boot properly. Thanks.

You can use all the space, just don't touch the windows files. Easiest thing to do is make a separate folder to store the data you want to keep on it.

I think you cant! because you are converting the USB driver into boot able device! it allocate your whole memory as one device. so think it wont work! why cant you format it and use again?!

You can. When you make a usb boot drive the necessary files are transferred to it in the appropriate locations needed and does not lock out the rest of the space. You can use up the rest of the available space with whatever data you want, even into the folders that the windows files are in. Whatever extra data add to the usb that is not needed for the installation will be ignored, as it is not written into the installation instructions. If you modify or move files needed for the installation then you will run into problems.
