Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is a GPT partition?

Hello,

I am attempting to downgrade (Or should i say, 'upgrade') my Acer V3-571G from Windows 8.1 to Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. The installation media i am using is a USB drive. Before trying to do the downgrade, i went into the BIOS and disabled Secure boot, and also changed the boot mode from UEFI to Legacy. When i get to the bit in the installation where it asks where Windows should be installed, under Advanced Installation, i select the primary partition where Windows 8 is currently placed. It comes up with this message, reading 'Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style'.

I don't know what this means, and i also don't know how to solve the issue. I've searched on the Internet for a solution, but all the answers have been confusing and i'm not sure what to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
