Windows doesn't always start

I apologize if this thread has already been started but I can't find any info for my issue anywhere.

I haven't had my computer long, and have only been connected to the net for about 3 weeks. But latterly occasionally when I turn my computer on it only makes it as far as the windows is loading screen. I restart my computer and same. I've been able to get around the problem by swapping my master and slave hard drives around restarting it, getting the error msg, turning it off, swapping them back and restarting it again, and then it works fine. But this only last until i turn my computer off again. I'm running windows 7 with i7 920 cpu. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

You said master and slave, so that indicates you are using IDE. your best bet would be to go and buy a SATA hard drive. make sure you get a SATA data cable, and make sure your power supply has a SATA power cable. they look like this:
