windows explorer has encounted a problem

i always get the warning when i am using windows media player. i find this strange as i have just reformatted and installed XP fresh!
 
Go to recovery console and type chkdsk /r/f.

EDIT:
To access recovery console boot from the XP cd and press R when prompted.

well i checked the disk and it said that it appeared that it was in good health. the problem is still there so what should i do? what can i do?

could it be the actual OS that is corrupted? im completey lost and dont know what to do!

i still have this problem and its getting worse and i have tried everything that has been suggested! can anyone think of what i can do.

so you dont read the whole thread this is my problem.

everytime that i try and watch a wma file it opens WMP and then will not conitue as some malicious code is trying to be excicuted. so it the closes down WMP and also sometimes when i am transfering large files to and from Hdd's.

help me please :)
