i want to install windows xp pro and i cant cause 1 have my harddrives set up in raid 1 and i dont have the driver any one know were i can get it
 
Assuming you've set up your raid using the motherboard and not a PCI raid expansion card, the manufacturer's website should have a downloadable zip file with all nessecary drivers, as well as instructions on how to make a driver disk.

If you post your motherboard model number, I'll post the download link for you.
 
He has his motherboard posted in his signature, although Asus didn't seem to have instructions on how to make a driver disk.
 
Thanks Chef. All this work must be getting to me LOL. I'm now ignoring signatures...

You need to download this file, browse the zip file and run the MakeDisk.exe program. It'll make the disk for you, then all that's needed is when prompted during the install, press F6. :)
 
i did what u said now when i hit f6 is something supposed to happen because it just continues then says windows does not detect any mass storage drives thanks again for the previous help and srry for being such a noob
 
Pressing F6 should seem to do nothing, but should also eventually bring you in a screen that instructs you to press s and load the disk drivers, rather than taking you straight to the installation window. See here.

Perhaps do you have a keyboard with F-lock enabled?
 
ok it now goes to the screen where u press s and i load the one for xp then i click enter it says setup is prepring windows then it asks if i want to repair or install windows (using my memory so be patient) but then it still says no mass storage devises found

i know y the disk wasnt working i found out it uses the nvidia raid thing now i cant find the disk maker for it i cchecked the site but could not find it does tell u how to make one with the computer thats set up for the raid but that pc is unusable right now thats y i want to reformat (lol i know i know im a nub)
