I'm getting the following error message while trying to initally download/start Windows XP Pro with SP/2. I have run the hard drive set up disk for my hard drive. Since everything is new, I find it hard to believe that the hard drive is corrupted. Windows starts installing and stops and gives me the message below.

"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you’ve seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps:

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run “CHKDSK /F” to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

I don't think it's a virus. It's all brand new. New hdd, etc. I just put it all together and fired it up for the first time. I get this message when trying to install xp.
