Yes, you can and HP has XP drivers for that model here.

There aren't many on that page but XP should already install the rest of the drivers needed.

To install XP you need to boot to the install cd and follow the prompts. You need to delete any existing partitions (back up and data you need before you do this cause it won't be there afterwards), recreate partitions and then install XP.
 
hello, to reinstall windows on the pc you really need the installation file to perform this task. Get the intallation CD from software shop.

Procedurces:
Go the the system setup environment.
>on the environment change the first boot option to CD (this is because you want to use the cd to either format the system or repair the OPS)
>Save the changes you have just made to the first book on the setup environment.
>Insert the Installation CD into the CD/DVD drive.

The system will definitely boot from the bootable cd (installation cd).
Then follow the simple questions displayed on your screen appropriately to have a good job done.

It's easy,just insert your XP CD and install it.Of course,you have to download some drivers for Xp from the HP official website.
