Windows-L

Hi,

When I press the Windows-L accelerator key, the system loggs off. When I enter my password the system loggs me on. That is very usual. But there is a difference between really logging off (closing all your programs et cetera) and de Windows-L key. With Windows-L, the systems loggs not really off. Is there a possibility that when I'm 2 minutes gone the computer spontaneously loggs off my PC by the Windows-L-way?

Greetings,
Iwan.

Pressing windows + L only locks the computer, it doesnt log you off. Im not sure what the shortcut key is to log off properly

Just tryed it and it logged you off, at least for XP, also i'm a little confussed in what your trying to ask, but by "not really logs off" I assume you mean your at the log in screen, but all your programs are still running, so when you log back in its the same, it logs you off by the "switch user" method, it will never close your programs over time like you suggeted it will just stay on.

i just tried it too....and it locks windows. If you're using fast user switching, it switches to the welcome screen, but you are still logged in. If you aren't then it brings up the log in dialog box but entering you password brings you right back...no loging off or on. If you enter a different user name it will log off the old one and log in the new one...
