I have yet to find anything that comes close.

Some people like the media center application, some dont. I really like it!

Take a look through this forum, there have been many posts on MCE.

you mean that whole interface of browsing through and playing your files? or the look of windows mce?

Is the Media Centre edition better/as good as/worse than xp home/pro for gaming? All I need to decide on now is a OS.

I was going to go for 64 bit edition, but reading through this forum, it seems theres not enough drivers for it to make that a viable option.

There is no difference between the three operating systems when it comes to game performance. XP Home was just stripped of many network security features and the only difference between XP Pro and XP MCE is MCE has the added multimedia application (the best part is the TV. With a TV Tuner it's like having a DVR/TIVO, but better...)

i posted this once in general software, and once in Operating Systems, cus i didn't know wich one to put it in.

I am talking about the windows media center application. I was wonderiing if i can get an"imitation" for XP home

You need to purchase the entire MCE Operating System in order to use the Media Center Application.

Microsoft is unfortunately enough, not very probable to release features of a advanced version of its OS to make compatible for the basic Home Edition - they would want you to buy the more expensive (though I am not sure how much 'extra' features it has) version of its OS from your own pocket rather than give it to you free of charge.
