Okay, I recently took control of my brothers napster account, that he started awhile back. I downloaded the program etc etc and all that went well. But I need a verison of windows media player of at least 7.XXXXX. I went to the "official" Windows Media Player download site to download WMP 11, but the page can not be displayed. Where else can I update my media player?
 
You should be able to get a redistributable copy from the MS developers section. A good alternative site for WMP 11 as well as other Microsoft updates like the full 266mb download of SP2 go to SoftPedia. Glad to see that worked for you. Did you use the softpedia or download.com link? Softpedia is one of the best sites for downloading things off of. You get a ton of adware mixed in. The bandwidth there is good too. That can be a big help for those using dialup connections.
 
I used the download.com site. The softpedia didnt work for me, something didn't register while downloading, so I used Download.com, and had no problems.
 
You may want to keep that one in your favorites then. The Napster account probably interferes with the needed Windows validation. If you temporarily unloaded that and simply went to the other sites you could download normally.
