Windows Media player error?

An error message saying "The procedure entry point GetIUMS could not be located in the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL." is displayed whenever I try to open a Media file. How can I fix this problem?

For starters uninstall WMP and then reinstall it.

How to I uninstall Windows Media player? It is isn't in my "Add or Remove Programs" nor in the "Add or Remove Windows Components" nor in the "Windows Media Player" folder.
