Windows Movie Maker .avi problem

Trying edit my avi files with movie maker, but it doesn't show the video track when importing, only audio. The FAQ says that there could be the problem with the codec i use on my PC, to solve the problem, I have to turn off the using of this codec in my Movie Maker. Turned off, didn't help. Any ideas how to solve this problem?

Use Vista home premium 64

Yes, I can play all formats with media player...
What can be the problem? I installed the newer vers. of mov maker, but same thing, same problem... ((
