if i install a new hard drive into my macbook am i able to install and run windows vista without installing parallels or bootcamp etc?

a) You'll completely void any warranty from Apple if you install a new hard drive. b) disregarding point a, yes you can easily run windows from bootcamp or vmware or anything like that.

Why o Why did you pay the price for a mac book then turn around and install windows?? Which i would never have another mac. but thats besides the point.

im not worried about warranty and that stuff because it has already expired because the macbook is 2 years old

i dont see why not than if the warranty is up..thats all macs are good for anyways =P IMO that is haha

yeah well i ended up going out today and finally getting my desktop with windows 7 so i am just gonna keep snow leopard on the other one
