I have windows xp professional and the problem I have is that I merged everything in my start menu and somehow some things got deleted so when my user account logs up I get a few pop up windows of programs that no longer have a space in my start menu. Anyone know how to solve this?

Thank-You

Can you take a screenshot of this? This key can be found on the keyboard as PrtSc, Prnt Scrn, something along those lines...

From your details, it sounds like it is being accessed but the path to it is missing and the pop ups are showing up telling you that they are not there. However, this could be interpreted other ways too, so if you can take a screenshot of it, it'll be great.

If it's not something major, it sounds like it can be easily fixed with a registry cleaner. If you want to go ahead and try this, you can find some free ones here:

I know what the popups are...they are just programs that I have taken out of the start menu accidentaly...all I wanna know is how I can get them to go back in the start menu so that they don't pop up when I login anymore...

So is this the instance where there is a pop up where it seems like it's looking for the location of the file? If you know the file and what it's called, you can find it easily in the "Program Files" folder in your main drive (C:) and just create another shortcut to put into the start menu.

Anyone ever hear of the "ADD" in the customize Start menu? Right off of the Start down to the settings you go to the dropdown list and choose "Taskbar and Start Menu" instead of the Control Panel, Network Connections, or Printers and Faxes links. The "ADD" button simply puts a small screen up for the address of the executable once you have used the browser to locate that. Give this a try to see if you correct some of this.
