Windows Server 2003 Sound Problems

I have a PC with Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition installed on it, but the sound doesn't work. I've Googled the problem, but the Windows Audio service has been started already.

I have the sound card (Realtek AC97) selected as the default sound device. I updated the drivers, which are supposed to work with server 2003. When ever I adjust the volume, the internal speaker chimes, not the external speakers. I've tried headphones. I also can't adjust the bass and treble, because the bars are greyed out. Hardware acceleration is set to full. I am at a complete loss as to why it's not working.

it's still probably drivers, with 2003 you basically have to install drivers for everything, so I'd keep looking for more drivers, maybe you need something for the mobo?

Nevermind, I've got it working now

The motherboard has a front audio connector on it. When front audio jacks are not connected there are these two jumpers that need placed on the internal connector. I had not put those jumpers back after I took out the front connector.

In my defense, some how, it worked fine when I had XP installed on it, even with out the front connector.
