This sata hhd comes up in the bios and it works as a second hdd, but when a try to install windows on it, it can't be found. Does anyone have any ideas?

Are you running in ahci/raid mode? XP doesn't have any native drivers for ahci/raid and won't see the drive unless the driver is installed. Check your bios for sata controller setting and change it to IDE/compatibility, then install windows.

This is what ive been checking. This hdd was in raid in another computer, ive formated it and raid on this new mobo is disabled. The thing is that my ssd is not having this problem when connected on the same sata cable.

Windows 7

Are you running ahci though? Did you just format the drive or did you delete the exising partitions? You may need to use a drive erasing utility to totally wipe the drive, Killdisk should work.

The mobo bios has nothing about ahci. I booted from my ssd and formated the other hdd (unchecked quick format).

Im running killdisk now.
