Windows SP2

When installing Windows XP SP2, will this wipe off any programs or files?
Also, are Windows planning to release another Service Pack, if so, when?

it wont make any programs disappear from your system but there are some rare issues where older programs might not work work.
i have heard that there will be a SP3 but i dont know when its gonna be released

SO, SP3 is gonna be released and a new version of the windows will be lunched (WIN VISTA).

I am justing updating it from XP SP1 to SP2

ive still got the bare windows. i would install service packs but some unknown force is stopping it from completing.

Installing SP2 wont erase anything, it just updates systems files. But it says that you should back up in the rare case that something does go wrong.

And SP3 (if there is one), will be released sometimes after vista i would imagine. And IE7 will be included in it.

You cant use windows update without atleast SP1. And you cant have big hard drives either

Actually, i think there just not making any new updates for bare windows xp, but you can still get the previous ones.
