Windows Update Question

I got a brand new computer for Christmas. My work system does not work with IE 9. So I uninstalled it. Now I have to restore my computer every day to an earlier time because with the automatic update, it reintalls it. How can I make sure with the windows update the IE 9 does not install.

If you got to windows update, then go to change settings, there are 4 options.

I go with option 3 check for updates but let me choose which ones to download.

or you could go to option 4 and turn windows updates off altogether.
