i recently built my new rig, theres no errors, everything at nice temps etc etc all drivers for graphics card installed latest ones, but in all games it jus stops and goes back to desktop, its really buggin me, is there anything in windows update i could need do you think that stops this?
 
does it give you any errors?

If you could post your PC specs & the games you were playing at the time it would help.
 
Doom 3 @1280x1024 on high quality all patches installed, it jus freezes then the mouse comes back up i must alt-tab to exit

Need For Speed Underground @ 1280x1024 on high, mid game can be any random time will just exit with no warning back to desktop, no error msgs etc
 
are you running "Catalyst" drivers? if so, check if VPU is enabled and also if the "send Error report" is enabled.
 
Right-click the desktop, select Properties, click the Settings Tab, click Advanced, select the CATALYST Tab, click the Control Center button.

In the control center in the Graphics Settings window, click on VPU Recovery.
