windows updates for windows 10

hi guys and girls i want to buy a new pc with windows 10 but i need to know do you still need windows updates to make the os work like in windows 8 7 ect??? im using my phone at the moment for internet so i can do a lot of updates any help will be great thanks

you can look at the updates and take the ones ya want. Might be related to hardware
that will improve performance, its critical and security updates that are important.

thanks that is what i was thinking the problem is in using my phone and you cant dl a lot of security updates

Windows updates are automatic with windows 10 and you can't disable it. They will download and install automatically.

True but you can't stop new updates from downloading and installing the first time. And I just checked mine and there is one update don't have the uninstall button available.

Yea... Windows 10 sucks for this. Windows 7's option of "Download now, install later" was the best thing ever.

thanks for the replys but i still need to know if i went to my local pc shop and brought windows 10 pc will it work out of the box or do i need a shed load of updates for it to work properly
