Windows Vista and DirectX10

no but you wil need a good rig to play games at there best, a min of 2gig ram a dx10 vid card 8800gt is good and a good cpu e6600 or the future proof q6600.

if thats true please post the details because as far as i no you cant get dx10 xp but you can unlock some graphic features on games like crysis on xp.

I heard something about DX10 in XP. Its just a rumor, or its not "true" DX10.

I can see a good difference between DX9 and DX10, the gameplay in dx10 is better IMO.

Ya im getting 3 gigs, decided it would be better

Get 4GB. For one, it's an even number of memory, and an even number of sticks, whether it's 2 or 4 of them, your computer will like that better. Secondly, future games are taking a lot of memory, and so does Vista, so it would be worth getting the 4GB just for that. Check out Newegg, they have some great deals, and check out the mail-in-rebates as well.

Vista only reads up to 3gigs in 32-bit version

to clear thing up 32bit os suppurt 3.25gig of memory and 64 bit os supports alot more so if you are thinking of getting 4gig of memory then you will need a 64bit os to see all the ram, i run vista ultimate 64bit and all in all i have no problems running all that i want to run but that doesnt mean you will be so lucky i would recommend doing a bit of home work use google to find out if there are vista 64 bit drivers for the hardware you are going to use i.e. printer ,sound cards etc.

no vista 32bit has the same memory limitations as xp 32 bit, and thats for which 64 bit to get depends on what you want to use it for vista uses dx10 and most games of the future will support that so vista 64 bit +4gig of memory and a good cpu and vid card is the way to go if you are heavily into gaming, xp 64 bit is a os i havent used but from what i have read it doesnt seem to get any real support from microsoft so its proberbly glitchy, i would google both 64bit os for drivers you no your going to need , but vista 64 bit over xp 64bit for gaming.

It really depends on your budget and uses, I would say Home Premium x64 is fine for most people, however if you really want to go all out with features and such, get Vista Ultimate x64.

well all i want is to play games at DX10. So I guess the Home Premium 64 is good.
