Yeah, and with W98 they released hundreds of little tiny service packs, about 200 kb a piece, that I'm having fun collecting at the moment . As much as I love it, I have to admit, W98 is pretty buggy at times. 2000 showed remarkable improvement, and XP one-upped that, so I'm a bit hopeful for Longhor.....errr...*shudders* vista...
2. Of course it will be ready, only because its BETA 1 for christ sakes, it could consist of just a few elements and still qualify for BETA 1. They wouldnt have publically announced its date if they werent confident of its safe arrival for BETA testing.
I'm sure that they did extensive cutomer surveys, and most people like the name "Vista", it's just that I wish they had consulted me about the name.....and only me. Would that be so much to ask?
It's really good, though, that they're releasing a beta. That means that they're getting closer to releasing the complete version; which I hope means that prices will come down on 2000 or XP soon. I doubt it will happen, but it's still nice to hope
They probably will, not too much though as windows XP will probably still be one of the most mainstream ones out there. 2000 i would expect to see drop in price somewhat.
