I have a Compaq Presario C700, running Windows Vista 32bit.
I want to reformat it with a Windows Vista DVD I have.
I inserted it in the DVD drive and restarted the laptop. When it boots up I was prompted the message "Press any key to boot up from CD or DVD..." I pressed the space bar and nothing happens.
It basically freezes like that for a couple of minutes and than proceeds to start up the laptop like it normally would.
I tried this a couple of more times, and still same result.
Next, Ive changed the BIOS to where it boots up the CD/DVD drive first. That didn't work either.
I know my CD/DVD drive is working Ive used it last week.
I also know this laptop comes with a second partition where it has the OS on it to reformat it to factory settings. Ive done that once and it also installs all this unnecessary software along with it, that's why Im trying to use my DVD.
Has anyone else had this problem, Ive tried searching for this issue and couldn't find something similar to what I'm dealing with.
Any Suggestions?
Thank You!
