Windows Vista not detecting hard drive

I have put together all my parts for my first build and in windows vista installation, where I come to step 13 here: http://vistasupport.mvps.org/installing_raid_sata_drivers.htm , it shows no hard drives to install windows in.

The hard drive I have plugged in shows clearly in bios. This is the hdd I have: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136320

The first time my hard drive showed up and I tried to partion it but it came up with some error saying to turn on my hard drive controller in bios. I restarted and went into bios to look for the hard drive controller option; couldn't find it, and I went back into windows vista installation, and hard drive was gone. Yet, I still could see the hard drive in bios.

I tried formatting it on a different computer that has xp, but it won't show up there either, still only on bios.

I believe it is windows vista ultimate 64 bit.

My build:

Try bumping the thread after a day or two. :)

Did you change the SATA/RAID controller to RAID mode when you were looking for things in the BIOS? I don't know if Vista has defualt drivers for RAID controllers or just older controllers that lacked IDE mode.
