Hello guys,

have any of you who have downloaded the Windows Vista Pre-RC1 OS tried installing the Vista Nvidia display drivers from the official website? They do not seem to work and cause my display to go black with that flashing line on the top-left corner. I always have to go back and system-restore from the DVD.

That's because the RC1 is a development release for evaluation. It's far from the finished version where drivers will be readily available. Vista like XP will already have it's own generic vga drivers ready to install once the hardware is detected. On the beta you will be stuck with those until the full version is out.

Well

Given that this is a pre-RC1 OS, I would expect it to work. Note that the drivers on Nvidia's website were Beta 1 and Beta 2 compatible. There will not be that many changes prior to the release.

Does anyone know if the ATI drivers will work? I may just end up trying it to see, but if both companies drivers dont work, then they need to update them quickly.

If you can't locate drivers for RC1 at this time the ones you found will probably be the only available until the full versions of Vista are out. Remember this release was for development and evaluation only according to the things I could find on it. Since it's a beta you will probably end using the drivers that were included with it if no newer drivers for RC1 were even made available for this release. You can't expect retail support on a beta.
