Just wondering if the Windows Vista Home Premium recognizes the 8 gigs of ram I have in my system. Also what the big differences between the other windows vista? Thanks alot,
Kevin

really? Thats bad because the reason I went to vista was because the computer store guy told me that windows xp wouldnt work with the 8 gigs of ram I had so he suggested the windows vista home premium.. thats pretty lame! I really hope I can get my money back.

yea he built me the computer and told me that I couldn't have windows xp because it wouldnt beable to use more then 3.5 gigs of ram and that any vista will! and I beleived him because when I went into the computer and under system it shows the 8 gigs.. however I went into task manager and it shows that 1.09 is being used and that was like 3 outa the 10 bars.. thats why I ask! I'll go down there tomorow and I really hope he exchanges it! yea i got it for 90 bucks but still I want my 8 gigs of ram :| I paid alot for it!

Yea no doubt man i know that now! i didnt join the forum until after I got the computer! I was wondering why my other computer was faster running xp! its got 3 gigs and a dual processor and it was keeping up! With this new comp it should outrun it no problem!

Now once I get my 64 bit do I have to save everything and format? or is there a way to just install and replace the old one for the 64 bit?

Heh yea went back today and the guy appoligized and said he did it twice and didn't even realize it! so I'm getting 64 bit as of monday! Yay 4.5 more gigs of ram :D! and I thought this was fast enough :| yeesh! thanks for the help guys!
