Windows won't show Second Sata drive

I have Windows XP pro, SP2 installed on my computer and it won't show my second Sata Hdd, it shows up in the Bios and everything is enabled and such, it even show up under device manager but when I go to "my computer" it's not there? Any ideas? I'm ready to do a fresh install but maybe there is an easier, less time consuming solution.
Asus A8n-SLI Premium, latest Firmware
2 WD 80 gig Sata Hdd's

Sounds like you haven't partitioned the second HDD. Go to Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management->Disk Management

I think your onto something, I will let you know, right now I'm moving data and I want the missing Sata to be drive "D" so I have to remove my DVD drives so it will let me use that letter for a label. Right now it's a DVD drive...Thanks!

No problem. I had the same problem when I built my sig comp for my 750GB HDD cause I'm new to building computers and all.

Do I want an extended or a primary partition? It will simply be storage, and will I lose everything on it when I partition it?

After further review I see I can choose to format or not to format and I'm going with primary as my choice
