i recently put a new CPU in, and it seems like i did everything perfectly. I put on the thermal paste, i locked the hsf in well. Now whenever it gets past the windows loading screen, it restarts... ive check all my conections, but nothing works. Whats weird is that it worked at my friends house where i put the CPU in. Any ideas?

ok, so im actually writing this from my computer in networked safe-mode..
i'm assuming that there is a driver problem or something because the CPU is not overheating. there is an exclaimation point on somethign that says "PnP BIOS extension" whats that mean? any ideas? thanks

I dont know what the problem was, but it couldnt have been the BIOS and is wasnt the power supply (550w Antec truepower II, pretty sure i dont need a better one.. :p). I installed windows on another HDD and it works fine... its just irritating that i need to reistall all my programs and games.

Doesn't matter, you put in a new CPU, resetting the BIOS should have worked.
