Windows XP and DX10 question

I have heard when you use DX10 videocards with windows XP there can be problems with the games is this true?

I was thinking of getting the 8800GTS 320MB would this cause any problems for windows XP.
 
the card will just run using direct x 9.0 if you use XP

there is actually a dx10 simulator for XP, i dont know if it works or not. its called dx9.5 or something weird like that

but as far as stability, the geforce 8series will work fine on XP (or at least as well as it would on vista - some ppl say the drivers still arent great for any OS)
 
Ok cool thanks I guess I will get that card for my new build if I can convince my dad to let me spend the extra money.
 
So do you guys think that my Hipro 600 watt dual rails at 20amps each rail would power the 8800GTS with a Core 2 Duo. I did a powersupply calculator and it said the max watt usage was 296 are those accurate?
