Windows XP Crashes

Lately when I have firefox open and am working with mp3s in multiple folders and multi-tasking, my pc freezes, then comes back around, but does not show the task bar and closes any open windows and then brings up "my documents" in explorer. I have to reboot to get everything back. I have XP sp2 and 512MB ram...could I just need more ram because of the multi-tasking with mp3s and firefox running?

Chances are depending on what other startup programs are running, you are running out of memory. The decent minimum these days is 1GB of memory if you are multitasking alot or editing video or whatever.
