Windows xp installation problem

Hello

I have a HP Pavillion Entertainment PC dv5 and wanted to reinstall windows and format the HD. The probelm is everytime i boot from the cd i get a bluescreen after a while with stop: 0x0000007b (0xF78d2524, 0xc0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). I read something about changing sata options in bios. But in this bios version is no option to change that.

What can i do?

My experience of the blue screen is that its a hardware fail.

Check each pice of hardware you got and see if it works.
 
Yes, sometimes not having the sata driver on the cd when installing windows will cause a blue screen, i've came across that myself on a few different motherboards. Is the cd an actual Hp recovery cd or a microsoft XP install cd?
 
its a new windows xp professional cd. recovery cd wont work because i already exchanged the HD. cant start windows neither now.
 
Look on the back of the case for a specific model number so I can find some info on it.
