hey all long time since i last posted here,

well ill get straight to the point. Ive tried to install Windows XP on a kinda old setups, but way above the requirements

1.4ghz Amd Athlonn
Iwill KK662 plus mobo
512 SD ram
30 gig hdd

well when i go to install, it loads everything, but it hangs when at the bottom of the tex blue screen it says "Setup is starting Windows". it hangs and doesnt continue any further.

ive tried M$ website and recomendations but nothing works

ive:

-changed the IDE cables from 40 to 80 pins
-tried 2 different CDrom drives
- unplugged everything, including PCI devices
- tried different ram, and im sure the RAM in now is working fine.
- tried different BIOS settings such as disabling Serial ports etc etc

and the only thing i can really think is in need is a BIOS update, but im not sure. i really need XP on this comp asap and all help will be greatly appreciated thanks!!

did u try shutting it down yourself and letting it start??? if it is freezinf on setup is starting windows, the os may be installed and u may be able to boot it manually. did u try the os on another comp by the way?
